Sustainability Report 2024 - Guarulhos Sucatas

Sustainability Report 2024

Our 1st Sustainability Report marks an important milestone in our journey, honoring our legacy while looking ahead to the future. We share our key practices and results in this report, reaffirming our long-term commitment to promoting well-being for people and the planet.

We’ve been making history for 45 years!

Managing Director – Rafael Barros

With a history of more than 45 years of courage, ethics and innovation, we have established ourselves as one of the largest steel recyclers in Brazil. In 2024, we processed more than 163,000 tons of ferrous recyclables and recovered 90.2% of the materials we work with, diverting them from landfills. This work has a direct impact on reducing carbon emissions: our supply of ferrous recycled raw materials for steel production prevented the emission of approximately 142,403 tons of CO₂ equivalent3. In 2024, we invested almost R$20 million in technology and operational efficiency to expand recycling, improve the quality of the input for our customers and add value to the other materials in our process – such as non-ferrous metals and plastics, which we now recover and recycle as well. We seek solutions for all materials, maximizing the use of resources and strengthening the circular economy.

Board of Directors

In our journey, the publication of our first Sustainability Report highlights our history and reinforces our commitments to expand recycling, value people and strengthen our business to fulfill our purpose. This strategic agenda will be guided and monitored at Board level, which will follow up on targets and indicators so that we can move ever further in a direction that generates shared value for our stakeholders, for society in general and for the planet.
