Guarulhos Sucatas Publishes 2025 Sustainability Report and Reinforces the Role of Recycling in the Circular Economy

Guarulhos Sucatas has just published its 2025 Sustainability Report, presenting the results, achievements, and commitments that marked another year in its more than 45-year journey in material recycling and the promotion of the circular economy.

The report brings together economic, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) indicators, based on GRI standards, and highlights the company’s progress in strategic areas such as recycling and material recovery, people development, corporate governance, innovation, and community engagement.

Recycling as Part of the Solution

In a global scenario marked by climate change, natural resource scarcity, and the need to decarbonize industry, recycling plays an increasingly important role.

As recyclers and urban miners, we are part of the circular economy solution. We recover, process, and add value to materials already existing in urban environments, allowing them to return to the production chain as high-quality raw materials.

The use of recycled steel—prepared and supplied by our company to customers—is internationally recognized as one of the most efficient ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and decrease the consumption of natural resources, directly contributing to a more circular and resilient economy.

Learn More: What Is Urban Mining?
Urban mining is the concept of recovering metals and other materials from existing stocks within the urban environment—such as buildings, vehicles, equipment, industrial waste, and post-consumer materials—thereby replacing the extraction of natural resources.
By treating cities as a continuous source of raw materials, urban mining reduces environmental impacts, emissions, and energy consumption while enabling the circular economy and strengthening the security of material supply for industry.
